Amount to Korean Words (일금 ○○원정)
Korean receipts, IOUs, contracts and quotes often write the amount in words. Enter a number to get the formal 일금 …원정 form, the 금 …원 form, spaced Korean words, Hanja anti-forgery numerals and mixed digits with Korean units, all at once. Digits are handled as text, so amounts up to 20 digits are exact. Nothing leaves your browser.

Conversion rules
- Formal forms: 일 is written before 십, 백, 천 and 만 (e.g. 일금 일만원정), and 일금/원정 are added so digits cannot be added before or after.
- Spaced Korean: Written as read (천, 백, 만 without 일) with spaces between 만, 억, 조 and 경 units.
- Range: Whole won amounts from 0 up to 20 digits. Decimals and negative numbers are not converted.
Frequently asked questions
Why write 일금 … 원정?
Putting 일금 before and 원정 after the amount makes it hard to add digits or words later. It is common on Korean receipts and contracts.
일만원 or 만원?
People say 만 원, but formal anti-forgery forms usually write 일만. The tool shows both.
Does it handle very large amounts?
Yes, up to 20 digits, exactly, because digits are converted as text rather than calculated.
Is my amount stored or sent?
No. The conversion happens on this page only.
