When this tool comes in handy

Lots of everyday paperwork — rental agreements, consent forms, delivery acknowledgements, internal company forms — asks for a signature on a PDF, but not everyone has a printer or scanner sitting nearby to print, sign, and scan it back in. This tool lets you add a signature directly inside the PDF, in your browser, without any of that. You can draw your signature with a mouse or a finger on a touchscreen, type your name and have it rendered in a chosen font, or upload a photo of a signature you already have on paper. Once a signature exists, drag it anywhere on the page and resize it from the corner handle until it fits the signature line naturally. A date stamp can be added right next to it, so you don't need to separately write in the date by hand. For a multi-page contract that needs a signature on every page, move to the next page and add another copy of the same signature; you can also place several signatures or initials on a single page if the document calls for it in more than one spot.

A note on legal effect

The signature this tool creates is a visual signature: an image placed on top of the PDF page. It does not verify who the signer actually is, and it does not include any tamper-evidence that proves the document wasn't altered after signing. Under Korea's Electronic Signature Act, an electronic signature isn't automatically denied legal effect just because it's in electronic form, but if a signature is ever disputed, proving who signed and that the document is authentic typically relies on additional safeguards such as identity verification, timestamping, and change detection — none of which this tool provides. The same general principle holds in most other jurisdictions: a plain image of a signature carries less evidentiary weight than a signature created through a certified e-signature platform with an audit trail, or an original ink signature. For contracts, legal filings, or any document where you might need to prove the signature in a dispute later, use a certified e-signature service (DocuSign, Adobe Sign, Modusign, and similar services all build in identity checks and tamper-evidence) or sign the paper copy by hand. For lighter use cases — acknowledging you received an internal memo, initialing a personal worksheet, filling out a casual form, or signing something for your own records — this visual signature is perfectly adequate and much faster than printing and scanning.

Tips for a cleaner-looking signature

If you're photographing a signature from paper, write it large in dark ink on plain white paper, and shoot the photo in even light without shadows or glare so the edges stay crisp. After uploading, turn on Remove white background so the white paper around your signature becomes transparent instead of sitting as an opaque rectangle on the page. If you draw the signature directly on the canvas, the tool automatically trims the empty margin around your strokes, so drawing it a bit larger in the middle of the box usually looks better once it's placed and scaled down. If you type your name instead, try switching between the sans-serif, serif, and script font options to see which one reads most like an actual signature for your taste; the script option tends to look the most natural for Latin names, while the sans-serif and serif options read more cleanly for Korean names.

FAQ

Is this signature legally binding?

This tool adds a visual, image-based signature on top of the PDF. It has no identity verification or tamper-evidence built in, so it is not a certified electronic-signature service. For documents where legal effect really matters, such as contracts, use a certified e-signature service or a handwritten signature instead.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. Everything happens locally in your browser.

My uploaded signature has a white box around it.

Turn on "Remove white background" in the upload tab to make the white paper background transparent, so only the ink shows.

Can I place a signature on multiple pages?

Yes. Navigate to another page and add the signature again; you can also place more than one signature or date on the same page.
