HWP Editor: Edit Korean HWP Files Online
Edit the text and table cells of Korean Hangul word processor files (.hwp, .hwpx) on a computer or phone without Hancom Office, then save as HWP, HWPX or PDF. It's made for quick fixes, like filling in your name and date on a form you received or correcting a typo. Files never leave your device.

How to use
- Drop or choose the HWP or HWPX file you want to edit. No file at hand? Click 'Start with a blank document' to try it right away.
- Click the spot you want to change in the document, and the text of that paragraph (or of that table cell's paragraph) opens in the edit box. Change the text, then press Enter or 'Apply edit'.
- To change the same word everywhere at once, use 'Find & replace'. To make text bold, italic or underlined, drag to select it in the edit box first. If you make a mistake, click 'Undo' (Ctrl+Z).
- Click 'Save as HWP', 'Save as HWPX' or 'Save as PDF' to download. '_edited' is added to the end of the file name.
Good to know: limits
- You edit the text of one paragraph at a time. Adding new paragraphs, adding table rows or columns, inserting images or shapes, and editing text inside text boxes, headers, footers or footnotes aren't supported yet.
- Pages are drawn with web fonts (Noto Sans KR and Nanum Myeongjo), so line breaks can differ slightly from Hancom Office. When you open the saved file in Hangul, it uses the fonts set in the document.
- Distribution (read-only) documents, password-protected documents and files from Hangul 97 or earlier can't be edited. To just read them, use the HWP Viewer.
- Whether a saved file opens exactly the same in Hancom Office can vary from document to document. Always open documents you need to submit and check them once.
- Save as PDF stores each page as an image. If you need a PDF with selectable text, save as HWP and use the HWP Viewer & HWP to PDF converter, or run the PDF through OCR PDF.

FAQ
Can I edit an HWP file without Hancom Office?
Yes. Open the document and click the spot you want to change, and the text of that paragraph (including table cells) appears in the edit box. Change the text and press Enter to apply it to the document. Save as HWP or HWPX and you can open it again in Hancom Office Hangul.
Is the original formatting kept?
Only the text you changed is modified. The rest of the paragraph's font, size and color, plus tables and images, are left untouched. The on-screen view may differ slightly from Hangul in fonts and line breaks, but the saved file shows the original fonts when you open it in Hangul. For documents you need to submit, check the saved file once in Hancom Office Hangul or the Hancom Office Viewer.
Which formats can I save as?
Three: HWP (the Hangul 2002 and later format), HWPX (opens in Hangul 2014 and later) and PDF. We recommend saving in the same format you received. PDFs are created by storing each page as an image.
What can't be edited?
Adding new lines (paragraphs), adding table rows or columns, inserting images, and editing text inside text boxes, headers or footnotes aren't supported yet. Distribution (read-only) documents and password-protected documents can't be edited either. For complex editing, please use Hancom Office Hangul.
Is my file uploaded to a server?
No. Opening, editing and saving all happen inside this browser. The document engine (about 5 MB) and fonts are downloaded once the first time, and your document is never sent anywhere.
